No, unfortunately the GMA 950 does not meet even the minimum requirements for The Sims 3. Even The Sims 2 runs very slow on that card. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

I have an old iBookG4 and it has

im upgradiing the ram so it meets the requirements but
ATI Radion 9550 only has 32MB VRAM
and only a 1.42 Ghz Power PC processor
im upgrading to a 500 GB hard drive and putting leapord on it so i shouldnt have a problem with the memory

so could i play it or would it run slow, or would it just not work at all?

Sorry but I have to agree with ADKhikerVW. The horsepower in those laptops just wont be enough to run Sims 3 satisfactory way. It might start but it will be so slow and painful to play...

Maybe it works better with the new 13-inch Aluminum MacBooks but I have yet to try it.

Short answer, no, long answer... umm no.

And even if you could upgrade the processor in the iBook it wouldnt cut it anyway. Sorry! :(

You should be fine. However, you might want to upgrade your RAM. Some people have reported problems running on the bare minimum RAM.

My IMac why can I play but crashes cause of over heating

Ok, So there was a time that I installed the Sims 3 on my imac, and it seemed that the fan could not keep up with the game... it would crash before I could really play.. is it because of the fans or is it the same problem PC's were haveing when they had to add the game to the DEP to run so it would not crash, I know a friend said they had the same problem with the fans and installed a fan control and it played ust fine there after... is this the answer for me and is it safe to put a fan control on my imac, as I have heard rumors that is will cause problems for my imac,

Your iMac is more than capable of playing the game, I don't generally recommend "fan control" type programs but you may want to try one and see if it helps.
