Your Mac's Specs
24" Intel iMac, 2.66 GHz, CD2, 4 GB RAM, OS 10.11.6; also iPhone 6 and iPad Air iOS 12.5.5
When I pull up a JPG picture in Preview, there is an Annotate option under the Tools menu but it's grayed out. Similarly, when I drag the Annotate button to the toolbar, it can't be opened.

I'd really like to use this feature to place some notes on selected photos.

I would appreciate any help. I am using Leopard 10.5.6 and iLife '08.

Thanks.......

That Annotate in the Tools menu is for PDF's, but you can add Annotate to the tool bar and then it will work with photo's. To add to the toolbar Right click on the tool bar and select "Customize Toolbar" and drag the "Annotate" button up to the toolbar. It works great for photos from there.

If you are having trouble with the button on the tool bar click and hold for a second, then it will pop open and let you select what you want.
