Mail and Attachments

Lately some PC users have told me that they are not receiving or are cannot open my attachments. Does anyone have a clue why? When I send from gmail they did not have any problems. This has only happened recently. I have the setting for window friendly attachments on.

When I attach a word doc or excel spreadsheet it goes on as an attachment but when I attach a JPG or picture the file is embedded in the body or at the bottom of email. Is there anyway of putting these formats in the same manner as a word doc?
