could someone help me with this really annoying prob please

Hi i have a little problem. im using a mbp running 10.5.6. Whenever i open up final cut express, it opens but none of the windows actually come on the main screen. i can see the FCE windows when i press f3 and all open windows swoop on screen, but if i click on any of the FCE windows it just dissappears off to the left again! this is frustrating and probably has something to do with the settings on the mac and not FCE.

Please help. Thanks
