Curious if a lot of you set your processor performance on highest on your iMac, is this ok to do? I do notice a difference in speed when opening apps and surfing the net so i'd like to just keep it at highest rather than auto.

So far as I know it's not a problem to keep it high, lets face it apple wouldn't have included the option if it would cause hardware problems.

The high setting will use more power and the fans may come on more harder due to the extra work load.

Apparently if you set the imac G5 1.8MHZ to high then they run at the same rate as the powermac 1.8 G5 single processor machines which is impressive.

Well I guess the 1.6 has also an equal improvement rate and would keep up with the old 1.6 G5's. It's nice to have a G5 processor as they are 64bit, the future of processors to come.
