Apple Mail auto start

My Apple Mail autostarts after I log in. I use Entourage now and want to disable Mail from starting.

Ive checked my Account/log in section and Mail is not listed as an autorun item.

Entourage is set as my default mail client.


Any suggestions?

If you Right Click on Mail in the dock is Open At Logon checked?

No, its unchecked.

And you say if you go into Accounts and Login Items Mail is not there?

This is strange as we just had another user here at MF with Adium doing the same thing and his is not in Login Items nor checked in the dock. Be sure it's not in Login Items. Otherwise I have found nothing so far.

its deffo not in log in items, however it seems that my Avast AV program is trying to autostart it, not the OS.

Im looking at the prefs in Avast to see if i can alter something there, no luck so far.

If you figure that out please come back and let us know. It might help the other user here with their problem. I would mess with it but do not use Avast.

Thanks for the link to that forum, interesting. Seems like I will ditch Entourage and go back to Mail. Oh well.
