Hi

Performance tests have shown the 2008 8-core Mac Pro runs on a par with the 2009 4-core model.

Do you reckon Snow Leopard could distance these two models performancewise?

Tough question, and you also have to ask what "perform" really means anyway. Relative to the applications you run day to day, you may find that 4 cores vs. 8 cores is not all that relevant in observable performance differences. There are very few apps that can use multi cores truly efficiently anyway. For now I truly believe that the core clock rate is still the most important factor to observed performance.

As to what Snow Leopard will do, none of us will be able to say until it comes out!
