I have been researching this and was wondering a few things.

1) Is there any software to play blu-ray movies on Leopard?
2) With HDCP, is it possible to play blu-ray movies on the internal screen (looks to be impossible with a secondary display)?
3) Has anyone found a drive the install into a macbook?

The drive is a 9.5 mm slot-loaded PATA Drive, and I am looking for a burner or at least be able to burn DVD and CDs and must be internal (not external). I am a tech and understand exactly what I able doing this is merely to confirm my ideas.

What MacBook do you have?

I have seen no drives that fit. OSX can burn but not read blu-ray as far as I know. Well you can if your screen supports HDCP then you can play it. Mini display port supports it.

There is, at this time, zero, nada, zilch, no software that will play a commercial B-R movie in OS X.

As for Snow Leopard adding support - no one will know until it's released.

I think there is a hint of blu-ray in the current iTunes beta.

I tend to agree with the assessment made here regarding the mention of blu-ray. While there very well could be support in the future, I don't see it happening anytime soon.

It would be nice to see the support for BR but I for one am not in a hurry to jump on the BR bandwagon. Nonetheless, the option is always nice.

apple has add hdcp support in the new macboks i am not sure if this included the new macbook white. i did read somewhere that apple was working on adding at least burn support for blu-ray in itunes and some other programs. Is anyone able to lead me to the burner at least so i am able to prepare for this support.

Toast already supports burning to B-R on Mac's. You might check their tech specs and see if they list supported burners.
