Powerbook doesnt get full signal

I have my pb in the same room as my airport extreme base station. My laptop cant be more than 1.5 feet away, at the most, and i do not show as having full singal. It shows 4/5 bars. Whats up with that? I would think that being that close I would atleast have full reception. the range limiter is not active

Hmmm, I think the aluminum design of the powerbook reduces reception somewhat, so that is probably at least part of the problem..

Have you got all the latest updates? I know that one update was supposed to improve airport reception...

But as long as you get a fairly strong signal and can surf without any problems I wouldn't worry about it to be honest.

The signal might be disturbed by other factors out of your control, so as long as it works don't worry if the meter shows full or not...
