ok, here we go for the new version...

hardware wise, how will the new macbook and macbook pro's be future proof when it comes to the new Snow Leapard?

Nobody will be able to answer that until Snow Leopard is released and more details on the upgrade are available.

But it looks like the new mac book pro unibody or all of mac coming out right now, try to be compatible with snow leopard. Specially most of it can be upgrade to 4gb to 8gb Ram upgrade or even more depend on what mac you just bought. Which is for 64 bit computing. And I guess snow leopard is heading that way I dont think there such thing as 128 bit operating system coming out yet
