Serious problems with sleep mode.

Black Colorware PowerBook 1.67 GHz G4, 2 GB DDR2, 100GB 7200 RPM
Recently I've been having trouble quite often with my iBook refusing to come out of sleep mode. Any idea how to fix this? It's really a pain 'cause I have to unplug, AND remove the battery of the iBook to get it to work again, which I KNOW is not healthy for it.

2 regular maintenance tasks that usually help with hardware/software malfunctions is resetting the PRAM and repairing permissions.

to reset PRAM hold down command+option+p+r on startup, let it chime 2 or 3 times, then let go of the buttons and let it startup normally.

to repair permissions, open Disk Utility, under First Aid tab, run Repair Permissions
