    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.

Burning an imovieHD file

I recently finished editing a movie on imovieHD. It took up about 20Gb and i compressed it (in imovieHD) down to a .dv file of 5Gb.

I then tried to burn it onto a dual layer disc on my macbook and got an error message - i've read on the forums that this is a common problem with the macbook burner...especially with dual layer discs (i havent had any probs burning with single layer discs)...

...therefore i tried to copy the file onto an external harddrive and burn it on a friend's computer but it wont let me copy the compressed file - is there some kind of security protection with files like these?

is there any other way of burning this .dv file (without cutting it down in size to fit on a single layer disc)?

many thanks if u can help!
