Hi all,

I have a white Macbook that I bought less than a year ago and yesterday night as I was putting my MB to sleep (closing the lid) I noticed that the light from the screen was shining through the lid. You know where you have the Apple logo that shines, usually only the logo is illuminated, right? Well, yesterday I noticed that in some other spots of the lid I could see the light shining through the plastic lid. I was wondering if any of you had experienced that and if that is normal (when the computer gets old)?

Should I take it back to an Apple store?

Thanks,

It is hard to understand what you mean, any chance of a picture?

Here are some pictures but they are very bad quality as I had to take them in a complete dark room and my camera isn't a very good one so sorry about that.

But at least it can give an idea of my issue.
On the pictures you can see on the left of the Apple logo a small shiny spot. As the quality of pictures is bad, imagine that in real the spot is more shiny.

Also on the other side of the lid, near the bottom right corner I can sort of see the illuminated edges of the screen through the lid.

Hope my explanations are better?

Thanks,

Not at all, it's in perfect condition.
I'm concern because I've never noticed that before on my MB and I've never heard of such issue before as well.

well it should still be under warranty, so you could try to take it to the Apple store and they should help you out, but it is strange, there shouldn't be anything on the inside that could damage the lid

Yeah that's weird because I've never heard about that issue before.
I was wondering if this problem is going to get worse with time.
The good thing is I have the Apple Care so I guess I can ask at the Apple Store about it!

Thanks
