On the dock I have applications menu opening in grid view, and would like to add additional applications. What controls the size of the grid view and the number of icons? I want to make it bigger as there is plenty of room on the desktop.

It's automatic mostly. As you add more data to the stacks, it will go from Fan to Grid to List.

Is there a way to hack this setting to make the grid larger to hold more icons. I hate the fan or list view and I don't like having to open the applications in finder.
