I have a Macbook purchased a couple years ago, 160gb hard drive, 2gb RAM, intel core 2 duo, 2.16 ghz. I just bought a WD 500gb hard drive because I ran out of space. Before installing the new HD, how do I backup my current hard drive???
First, my computer is partitioned 140gb Mac OS X 10.5.6 (leopard) and 20gb Window XP. Time Machine has the 140gb backed up to a 1Tb external HD. Do I back up the Windows with my 80gb external and then install the new HD, partition, install TM, then install Windows XP from the back up? If so, what do I use to back up my XP?
If not, should I use super duper/carbon copy cloner? Will that back up my hard drive exactly (both partitions)? If so, can I change the partition sizes when I install on the new HD?
Thanks in advance
