Hard drive

Son's macbook hard drive just failed. I have removed it from the macbook and was hoping to put it in a 2.5 enclosure to pull some data off it. Does not have the same connection (pins) as my PC laptops so my enclosures will not work, what enclosure do I need?

The macbok is most likely using the SATA interface (Serial ATA) while your enclosure could have the older PATA interface (Parallel ATA)

You will need a SATA connector, but if you are hooking that up to a PC you will not be able to recorgnise the drive, you could try this but I haven't tried it macosxhints.com - Access HFS+ discs in Windows via a free application
