I think this guy is a little out of his mind.

I mean, he probably paid that when he BOUGHT the thing, and he's expecting to get the full return on a year old laptop?

Some people just make me scratch my head in disbelief.

You can get it, brand new from Dell right now for $2,724...
with the SLI dual 9800 instead of the 8800 he has in it...
and a 500 GB drive instead of his 160 GB drive...
and a Blu-Ray/CD/DVD burner instead of no Blu-Ray at all..

and base price matching his specs still with upgraded video and hard drive is only $2,325

"This laptop is in perfect, mint conditon. It is tuned perfectly for gaming. It was bought May 2008, it is only 11 months old. Dell warranty expires May 2009."

The warranty expires next month... I hate people like this.

I wasn't going to buy it until he mentioned it was tuned to play games. That and I can call him when I break it. Now it is a no brainer.

The only thing more sad than the prices people put on their used junk is the prices people actually pay.

That laptop looks amazing! I would gladly pay the asking price. Heck, I'd even pay slightly more for such a fantastic machine! :p

I just love the line "I can even show you the bill."

Great, that's really gonna make me want to hand over $3k for a year old machine.

15" MacBook Pro with those specs for $150 less? I know how I'd spend my monies.

I like how, as an added bonus, you can get outdated software like Office 2000 and PS CS2. And why do the picture have to be as large as they are? There is no reason to make Craigslist listings any more displeasing to the eye than they already are.

Other than the GPU setup, the MBP is much better (I prefer smaller screens on laptops).

Heck you can get a good Apple for less than $3000 Australian. But $3000 US for that thing? That's just insanity.

Found a local craigslister here wanting $2,000 for a 20" 2.4 iMac.

Meanwhile, the newest 20" from Apple is a 2.53 and only $1,199.

Oh, he is throwing in a copy of CS2, CS3, Norton anti-virus, Flip4Mac, Firefox, Cyberduck, Adium, Transmission and a whole host of other apps.

And most of the time those copy's of high end software are downloaded off the internet so within a month those "CD Keys" are blacklisted and your poop out of luck.

Totally worth the purchase. If those are preinstalled, it saves me the potential fees it will cost to have a pro install them for me ;).

The funny thing is that you actually can pay to have Firefox delivered on disc.

The funny thing about Norton and AOx (can't even type that one) - any of us that have ever done any type of tech support despise the apps from both of those two companies while the general public seem oblivious to the problems they cause on systems.

I'm getting to the point of adding McAfee to that list. The boss has used that on the machines at work and it adds about 5-6 items to the startup list and has at least 10 processes running all the time. Went to try to turn it off the other day while working on one of them and you can't. You can turn off the firewall, but there was no place to actually start the McAfee app or turn off all the other options it had running without going in and stopping all the individual processes.

After Peter Norton left Norton and Symantec took over I noticed it going down hill so I went over to McAffe for a few years till I noticed more ads and emails and junk and bloat. One day a friend got a virus and Norton would do nothing with it. Another friend told him to download AntiVir which promptly killed the virus and made his system all well again. I tried it and have been using AntiVir ever since on my PC systems. The Free version does all I need and keeps me safe. Nothing has ever gotten past it as long as you let it update.

So I also finally gave up on McAfee sadly also. John McAfee sold the company and it's not the same either.
