Are you looking for a basic definition of what spaces and expose does? I hope that's what you mean
Spaces - it creates virtual spaces of your desktop. What you can then do is have one space with mail, one with itunes, one with a browser, etc. So that you can setup virtual desktops of applications. I use it to run Fusion on full screen on one, a browser and email on another.
Expose - it shows you what applications are running. One setting shows you ALL windows open and another shows you one application in focus. This is different than spaces, as it will show you within ONE desktop what applications are running.
I hope that helps, if not, reply back.
