I have just been given a Edirol UA-20 by a friend and would like to copy some vinyl to my computer. I have a phono stage so input levels should be satisfactory. Any advice, including what software should i use would be most helpful.

If all you want to do is capture the audio and are not too worried about filtering out the scratches and pops, Audacity oughta do it for you, and it's free.

I know Toast comes with recording software that has features to help remove such surface noises, but to be honest with you I haven't used it yet, so I can't comment...

Thanks, tried Audacity but sound reproduction was poor, may have to fiddle with settings. A friend has a copy of Toast, will try that.
