Mac Mail-Bold and Underlining

Is there a tool bar for controlling bolding and underlining in Mac Mail. I am a recent convert from Windows XP. In Outlook, I have the full set of Word controls. I don't see something similar in Mac Mail.

If you open a mail message, you can go to "View" and "Customize Toolbar." Drag the "Font" button to your toolbar and you can access bold/italics/etc that way. It's probably just easier to learn the shortcuts though;

command (apple) + b = bold
command + i = italic
command + u = underline

Just a quick note:
If you change the font to one without a bold or italic version in the font file your Mac will not fake it as MS does.
