About the parser for dashboard

I am really a newer...

I am writing something need to retrieve a webpage and then get some information from it. As far as I can understand, I need to parse the webpage file. There is a file call "AppleParser.js". But at apple mailist, someone said it deprecated. I hack the code of weatherwidget a little bit. It turns out the widget get the "weather information" from an apple site which has already parsed the weather information.

I wonder whether there is easy parser for dashboard. If not, is there anyone can provide more info. about AppleParser.js?
