I have a defective 2.53GHz MBP and since it is no longer in production, Apple has offered to replace it with the updated 2.66GHz version (I love you Apple!). What is the easiest way to transfer all of my files to the new machine so I can pick up where I left off?

I have Time Machine backup up my data to a Time Capsule. The obvious solution seems to be to use the MAC address workaround to trick Time Machine into restoring my files on the new system. But since the new machine is slightly different in terms of hardware, will there be any problems?

The Migration Assistant (which runs during the first start-up of a new Mac) can restore software/settings/documents from a Time Machine backup. Since you have a good backup on your Time Capsule, this should be a no-brainer.

Even simpler than I thought it would be! Thanks! :D
