I recently purchased a 1TB USB hard drive that I plan to use as an archive/backup drive. I use a Time Capsule to backup our Macbooks, and wanted to connect the separate 1TB drive for archiving other stuff. I dont know much about Mac networking, but I tried to find the extra drive after I plugged it into the Time Capsule (it says on Apple's site that you can connect external drives as well as printers to the time capsule) but I cannot detect it at all. I can see the Time Capsule on the network, the printer is also connected through the Time Capsule and works fine, but I cant pickup the external drive, eventhough it is Mac OSX compatible...any help would be really appreciated.
