iphone photo syncing problem

if i have taken photos on my phone, i cannot sync it to my computer, it just immediatly crashes
does anybody have and explanation/cures for this?

It crashes when you sync or try to upload the pictures and are you using iphoto.

im using a pc with xp, and it restarts within 2 seconds of me syncing if i have taken photos with the phone
