Have set up some rules (45) all working well up to about 3 weeks ago when 1 which forwarded mail to a mail yahoo account stopped working.
Tried deleting the rule and added a duplicate but still no good result.

Set up a rule to send to mail box on mail within mac but this does not work either for the "forward to yahoo account"

Now other ( about 10 )"rules" have stopped working although the rest are ok

Noticed on "installed Updates" 3/2/09 Mac OS X Update Combined (Intel) 10.4.8
When I am on 10.5.6
Is this ok

Thanks

Interesting you should mention this. There was a point that the rules messed up on my iMac G5 and iBook G4 after an update. Can't remember which one but it was early this year. What I did to get it working was to zap the .plist file for the rules re-enter them all. A lot of work but it solved it for me.

If you want to try it, it's in the users/username/Library/Mail and called MessageRules.plist

Many thanks

Is it possible to print out the current rules before I zap them ?

Thanks again

There are only two ways I can think of. First is do it a screen at a time and take a Screen Capture (Command+Shift+4) and outline the area.

The other way but it's a mess is to open the plist file in TextWrangler and print that out. Lot of data but the rules are there also.

Both ways seem like fun !

But rain is forecast all day anyway

Being a novice in these things can you advise how I zap the file .pslist

Presumably it gets rebuilt/recreated once I start adding back the rules ?

Thanks
