I still have my G4, and just got this new intel macpro.

Wondering if I can take some of the RAM out of the old (power pc)
mac and pop it into the intel mac, if it would
be compatible.

I would highly doubt it, as the G4 didn't use FB ECC DDR3's which are what is required in the latest gen Mac Pro. Skimming thru my Mactracker, the highest ram in a G4 is DDR non-ecc.

The answer is NO for sure either way but is this a MAC Pro (The Tower Workstation) or a MacBook Pro the Notebook? Either way, your G4 either uses PC100, PC133 or DDR PC2700 RAM. None of that will work in ANY intel Mac. A Mac Pro Tower uses special FB DiMM's and a Macbook Pro as was already stated DDR3 Ram. All totally different in every way.
