As soon as I open Thunderbird, the window goes all white (like any program does when it starts to load) and then "quits unexpectedly". When I get the report button I get:

Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS)
Exception Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE at 0x0000000000000000
Crashed Thread: 0

(I can post the whole thing, if needed.)

I have tried Googling to no avail. The only suggestion out there was to get rid of users/[me]/Library/Preferences/org.mozilla.thunderbird.plist, but that made no difference.

I am running a MacBook Pro, Mac OS X 10.5.6., 2.4 GHz Intel machine with 2 GB RAM.

Thanks for your help.

Do any other applications crash or just Thunderbird?

No, no other application has been crashing regularly.

Thunderbird crashes 100% of the time, however.
