Sharing Options

do i need to turn on Windows Sharing in order to be able to trade files with PCs on my network? how do i select which folders i want to allow sharing with on my mac? also is Personal Web Sharing cool for testing web sites? if i turn that on people can see whats in my Sites folder? is that the only folder they have access to with that option turned on?

Yes, turn sharing on. To select a folder to share just right click it and select sharing. Unfortunately I can't say for your other questions. Perhaps the next person that comes across the thread. ;)

you can set options for each shared folder, like who can see it or edit it on mac. its the magic of permissions.

But you'll need to use sharepoints if you want to specify certain folders outside of your home folder. If you log in as you from the windows computer (which I don't suggest you do) then you have read/write access to everything you normally would. So it's probably a good idea to set up a new user with limited permissions.
