iWeb Blogging

Well i have created a website for a friend. The website has a blogging section. In iWeb you can easily add more entries but he does not have iWeb but I do not have the time to be adding entries for him. I have the site hosted on my server and i was thinking I could give him ftp access to his site's directory. I successfully made the login but now my question is: Is it possible to be adding entries to the Blog via ftp? The blogging section is the iWeb default code. I haven't modified any code. So can anyone help me with this?
