I have finished installing a new Samsung ATA 80 gig hard drive in an old iBook G4 (a1054). The poor thing was dropped pretty hard and I have had to put a new DVD drive in it as well. The Disk Utility function, for some reason, is not letting me install on this hard drive, however. It has a big ol' red exclamation mark on the HD and says that I can not install OSX on this HD. I am using the software CD (gray) that came with the computer. I have tried formatting the drive multiple times and have had no luck.
Is there a compatibility issue that I have not considered?
