I have a 17" macbook pro 2.4 ghz. OSX 10.5.6. I have iTunes 8.0.2. This isn't the first time I had this problem. When I open iTunes, it will say, "Version 8.2 is available." So I hit update, and software update opens. It will "Look for Updates" and come up with nothing. "Your software is up to date" Blah Blah. No error messages. I called apple on this issue a few months ago. The guy had me move some files around, but obviously it did nothing. Any Ideas?

8.1 is the most current version. Nonetheless, have you tried downloading the installer from the Apple website and using that?

Yea...I downloaded that, Installed it, Opened Itunes, and it still said 8.0.2. Did I not do something right?

The install went successfully? If so, iTunes should have been upgraded.

No. I downloaded 8.1. Installed it, and when I opened iTunes, it still said 8.0.2.
