Airport Firmware update - problems

I updated Airport firmware today on my MBP, it said it had installed and I could close the window or wait for ???? (can't remember what). I closed the window and the beachball was running - couldn't access the program that I was in or anything else. I turned off the modem etc. (probably big mistake?). The MBP now does not recognize the Airport. However I also have a PC attached to the same Airport and it is working fine on that machine.
What can I do to get this back on the MBP please?

Problem more or less solved

I reset the Airport Extreme and am back in business. I still would like to know why I was connecting via Vista and NOT the MBP!
