I got a few questions about Mac OS X.

Is it true that it is not Apple who writes the core of Mac OS X, that it is in fact just the collective work of the open source community? Is OSX just a graphical shell on top of freeBSD, with a bunch of iPrograms?
And if not, how much of OS X IS from the open source community?

Simly put - there is a lot of OSS and a lot of Apple.
