I have conducted a search re this topic but couldn't find just what I needed.

I have an up-and-running new iMac. Is it possible now to add a new partition or can that only be done at the initial install?

Thank you.

even without such an app, you can still partition, but thatll erase your computer.

Hi MacMan,

Do you recommend having a few partitions or do you just run the one?

Thank you.

I only have the 1, or no partitions, plus my external hd. if you have lots of space, Id say one partition per purpose, like one for graphics, one for video editing, etc. but more than 2 or 3 partitions is overdoing it.
