my mac wont recognize my external HDD

Hi,
My external HDD witch has worked perfectly on my Mac and my PC, but suddenly the Mac wont recognize it.
On my PC everything is fine, but when I try to connect it to my Mac I get no reaction of any kind.
I´m thinking maybe it could have something to do with updating my Mac-Software.

Anybody smarter than me?

Thanks

Your Mac's Specs
2017 27" iMac, 10.5" iPad Pro, iPhone 8, iPhone 11, iPhone 12 Mini, Numerous iPods, Monterey
What format is the external drive using? FAT-32? Can you see the drive from Disk Utility?

Attach the drive to your PC, open a command prompt, (cmd.exe) and run
"chkdsk /f" on the drive. Any errors?

Also, it would be helpful if you could let us know what the specs are for your Mac. Model?

Regards.

It was recognized before? What has changed on your Mac and HD just before it stopped working (installed software, maintenance...)?

no, not FAT-32, its NTFS and no i can't see it anywhere, like i said no reaction at all-not even the sound that it normally makes when starts working, nothing, dead.

did what you said-no errors.
