Email issues

Hi I am new to the site and really a self learned computer guy. I purchased a new Mac desktop and have found that when I click on a email address for reply on a website or in a mass email the tool bar (on top) moves from right to left very quickly and I cannot access any computer functions without closing down Firefox and starting again.

So in short how do I enable the computer to enable me to access email addresses by clicking on them without have to cut and paste?

Any help?
