These pics are just ridiculous on how well they were shot. I can't believe the clarity at such close range. As an avid scuba diver I love taking underwater shots, especially macro. Too bad I was never really good at it though.
I'd like to get back into taking macro shots in and out of the water. Is anyone using an external (strobe or otherwise) flash to take the shots? It seems as though I'm having an issue with the lens shading the shot I'm trying to take and since the flash is on top, I doesn't adequately illuminate the subject at such close range.
This isn't a problem underwater since I have as strobe mounted on a flex arm. But on dry land I'm having issues with this. In daylight, either my lens shades the subject, or the front of the subject is shaded because the sun is behind it etc... lol.
I'm a terrible photographer...
