Sound Problems...

OSX10.9.0 MBA 2012 1.8Ghz/4Gb/128/ Iphone4/5S 16Gb
My sound has a problem.

When I'm using itunes or quicktime, the sound stops, and does a strange noise, and sometimes when I'm headphones the sound stops and starts playing in the mac speakers.

Is this a hardware problem?

if it is under warranty then take it to apple for some tests
