For Super techy peeps: Switching between GPU's

Hey guys,
I wonder if the more techy users can comment on whether you think it will ever be possible to switch between GPU's without having to log out and back in. In other words, do you think a software update can make the GPU switching seamless? Is it even theoretically possible to do this?

I think that this is Apple's idea eventually - they just have to come up with the right firmware / software to do this.

On the 17" Macbook Pro it's already possible without restarting.
Have to check out for you how exactly, but I do know it's possible!

From what I understand, it's really just a driver issue. I'd be surprised if it wasn't corrected for 10.5.7. But if you don't see it in that release, I'd be willing to bet that it'll be on the feature list for Snow Leopard.
