powerbook in sleep

When you put a powerbook (G4) into sleep does it use power for anything other than the white LED? or should i olny put in in sleep when its pluged in? thanks!

20" iMac C2D 2.16ghz, 13" MacBook 2.0ghz, 60gb iPod vid, 1gb nano
It uses very little power...just enough so that when you wake it from sleep it can come right back to the original state

Bare minimum of power would be the best way to phrase it. If you know your not going to use it for a while might as well turn it off though.
