Transmission does not auto-resume torrent downloads if my router restarts. Can someone please suggest me a torrent client that will auto-resume torrent downloads after I lose internet connection and gain it back?

Have a look at uTorrent.

However, you may be experiencing other issues than just your client. I've used Transmission for well over a year now and it happily resumes downloading following a break in internet connection as does uTorrent.

Just think aloud:
Is your router definitely reconnecting OK? Is your Mac definitely connecting back to your router OK? If your not using uPNP settings is your Mac getting the same IP address/using the right port number etc.

You could also try Azureus but I agree with mrplow that this is not the torrent program that's the problem.

Well the people on that other forum can perhaps help you. But I've never encountered the issue with any client so can't diagnose your transmission problems. Could be a tracker issue too.You have two other clients to try. Good luck.

as you may have read on that thread, they want me to write the patch to fix it. I will try Zure (Azureus).

Open the original .torrent file in Azureus and choose to save the data files in their current location. It will check the existing files then continue the download.

Agreed. Vuze (Azureus) is probably my favourite torrent client. I've had some problems with uTorrent. I also use Transmission from time to time and have never had a problem with auto-restart. I agree with mrplow, check your router settings. It seems whenever I have a problem, that's the best place to start! :)
