Proper way to uninstall apps?

Is there somewhere I can go to properly uninstall programs? or do I just drag what I wanna delete to the trash?

That's how it's done.

A few programs may leave config files in the Library folder of your user folder (often in Application Support or Preferences.) They don't do much besides take up space, but you can trash these, too, if you want.

My rule of thumb is if the program came with an installer, then use the installer to remove .. otherwise, just drag the file to the trash
