"Lock" an item on the Mac Desktop (Leopard 10.5)

Hi guys!

Does anyone know of a way I can "lock" an item to the desktop on my mac?
By this I mean fix it to a position on the desktop so it cannot be moved around on the desktop.

Anyone know of anything??
