While I appreciate the skill and guts it took to do that (something could break very easily), this might be a project for me only after my MB is well out of warranty and on it's last legs.

Is there anyway to do something like this without opening the LCD panel (something like a sticker)?

Is it save to do that with the screen?

Nothing will happen to the screen unless you don't follow what he did. Just set it down gently and pick it up gently. Make sure their wires don't break or anything, it will be fine if you do it correctly. The hard part is the frame.
