Compact Flash Card... Not Able to Use Full Capacity?

Hey guys...

I have a 256 MB Compact Flash card that I use with my Digital Elph and on both my IBM laptop and my iMac G5.

Lately, I've been noticing the storage capacity dwindling as I use it, i.e. although there are no files on the CF card, OS X says I only have 90 MB free. My best guess is that there is a discrepency between the Windows and OSX file formats... am I right?

I'd like to format it... but should I format it on my Mac, my PC, or my camera? Does it make any difference?

Thanks guys!

Your best bet is to format it on the camera because it uses a specific format which is not always the same as a basic windows or mac format

Thanks again for the quick reply. I'll give it a whirl and let you know how that works.

Thanks!
