do i need to install the Macbook Applications Install DVD that came with my computer? i've only had it for about 2 weeks now. i heard someone briefly mention something about it.

If you are talking about the Install DVD that comes standard with your mac, there are some optional installs available on the disk, but you don't need to install them. Everything you need is probably already installed or available elsewhere.

Yes you do. The OS install DVD is the best utility and trouble shooting tool you can get. You can run Repair Disk for hard drive problems when booted from the DVD, Apple Hardware Test will also be on the system restore disks and this checks logic boards, memory modules, graphics cards etc.

Yo can make a backup copy for normal use and lock the originals away somewhere and when you sell the Macbook, include the discs with it./

Sorry, yes, definitely keep the disk around. It is extremely useful for a number of things. I was just pointing out that you don't necessarily need to install the extra software.
