Hi all

Sorry for my first post to be a question but any help would be most appreciated.

I have a G4 quicksilver 876 running10.4.1 where desktop keeps dissapearing.

By disappearing I mean literally disappearing I got up this morning to find my monitor was just the standard apple blue with no icons whatsoever. I launched safari and after a min or two of browsing the icons appeared. Every min or two the desktop blinks and the icons disappear for a second or two then reappear.

Any ideas :(

Thanks in advance

I found the fix on another forum if it helps anyone else this is it.

If you've upgraded to QuickTime 7.6, it has a known issue with the Finder relaunching every few seconds. It's usually a result of clashing with Stuffit - have you got Stuffit installed?

If so, go to System Preferences > Stuffit > Stuffit AVR and click the "Stop" button.

Did this fix definitely work for you? Sometimes "weird" problems like you are/were experiencing are intermittent...and then they return.

Please let us know if everything stays stable after a few days.

Thanks,

- Nick
