Hi, i'm new to mac! I just ordered my macbook and I'm super excited! I have a question, I know there is a thing called flip4mac to use with quicktime, but I use this link to a radio station in asia to listen to their archived programs, and they have links to windows media player or real player only, how do I listen to it on my macbook? See link?
I know most of you can't read whats on there, but you should be able to see the windows media player icons...

thanks in advance!

don't need to even look at the link
install flip4mac to listen to wm files
install real player to listen to rm files

and while you're installing those,
you may as well go ahead and install Flash and Perian

Then you'll be set for just about any media you run into

I think it should play OK provided you have the flip4Mac plug in with QuickTime. I couldn't try one of the links because it asks for a user name and password. Have you tried it?

Regards.

I removed the link as it looks extremely questionable to me. But I think bobtomay answered your question adequately, so there's no need for it either way.

I'm sorry, it does require a username and account, but it shows up at a windows media player link. So when I'm using my pc, I click on it, wmp will pop up.

The thing is, I use windows media player to open it, so I can click on file, save as and save it on my folder, I then use goldwave to convert it to mp3 so that I can play it on my ipod. (I drive alot, so I use my ipod to listen to them).
Can I still do that with quicktime?

it will open up in windows media player on my pc, will quicktime do the same thing? Thanks!

are you able to save the file? thanks!!

If I right-click the link in Firefox and then choose "Save link as...", I can put it on my hard drive and open it in Quicktime.

You will also need a goldwave replacement in order to time shift streamed content and save it as an mp3.

Most will recommend wiretap.

I'm wondering if anyone knows how to make Firefox open WMV files in Windows Media Player rather than Flip4Mac's Quicktime component. When I click on a wmv movie, it tries to open up with Quicktime but there's just a player with no sound or picture. These are all asx files. I've tried fiddling with the Flip4Mac settings and right clicking on the files and choosing "always open with" WMP but no dice. Anything else I should try?
