Over the last week, my battery has been draining in the background. The status light on the charger says green, but the battery meter says 50%. If I unhook the charger, the battery drains really fast. I did a search and see that this is a common problem. Does AppleCare cover this? Is it the battery or the charger?

Just did the reset, and it didn't do anything.

Is this a logic board failure? It is having sleep issues too. The screen will start flashing when it tries to go into sleep or screen saver mode (but at random, not every time, maybe like once every couple days).

I see that you have the 2.4 GHz MBP, unless you have the newer unibody one, which i had the older ones. I went through 2 of them due to hardware problems in the past, one within 2 weeks, the graphics card/logic board went, and 3 months later, the superdrive and logic board went in the 2nd one. Especially with the symptoms your having, there could be some connections loose, for whatever reason, inside. I would give them a call, or take it to the Apple store, and try to recreate the problems you're having.
