New iMac 20" Leopard vs. 10.5.7
Hi there guys!

I own the latest version of the iMac, and I'm running Leopard 10.5.
Now, I've been looking at Windows Vista and how it runs recently. Now to be honest, one of the only features Vista has that I wish my Mac had, is the way the windows fade in and out every time you open or close windows.

Now I was wondering whether there is a way in which I could somehow do this or create the same effect on Mac, or whether there is an application of some sort that would enable such a feature.

Also guys, does anyone know of any way I could possibly get a Windows Vista Aero theme for my Mac, and maybe install it? Is there a similar theme out there for Mac OS X Leopard??

Thanks for all the help!

Mr Mac, thanx a bundle!;)

I think a product called shapeshifter used to do some of that stuff, but it's not compatible with leopard.

Another post I found talked about this product:

http://crystalclear.musingsfrommars.org/index.html

crystalclear as being able to do pretty much what you are looking for - at least the transparency aspect - the fading out, not sure about, but it's worth a look.

Thanks a lot! Crystal clear is good, but does anyone know about the fading effect?
Thanks!

If I'm not mistaken, Shapeshifter doesn't work with Leopard. Unless something changed recently.

Not clueless.

Just not interested.

The easy way to get a Windows Vista Aero theme on your Mac is to install Windows Vista.

Calling people clueless even with the Smile under it will not really get you any help here. I think Bobtomay said it best, you want AERO, get a PC with Vista.

And to quote you in another post:
...
To the extent of my knowledge, there is no transformation pack which will change the Leopard theme to Vista's as none of us want such a horrid thing!

Hahahahahahaha, it's scary sometimes what can be pulled from ones memory of someone elses previous posts!

But, I can also understand the desire for eye candy. Many people want the ability of Beryl/compiz/fuzion from Linux on windows, but they don't want linux, just the eye candy.

Personally, I'm happy with what OSX presents to me - some eye candy is nice, but for me gets old after a while (except for transparency levels, which I kinda like ;) ). But if I stumble across something that does what you're looking for MrM, I'll let you know - as I'm still new to mac - I'm still doing a lot of software searching for different tools and things to see what's out there.

Areo is not just a theme in Vista but an interface with a Expose like way to see all open applications.

Ok okay, but I just want the theme for Mac OS X, as in just the interface look, not extra exposé like features!
